Welcome to the Our Region Our Vision Future Growth Plan website.
This plan is a collaborative effort led by the Springfield-Sangamon County Regional Planning Commission to explore how Sangamon County can grow sustainably, support new development, and improve its infrastructure. Through public input, data analysis, and scenario planning, the study will help shape a shared vision for the future growth of our region.

Take the Community Survey
The “Our Region, Our Future” survey, hosted by the Springfield-Sangamon County Regional Planning Commission, invites residents to share their perceptions of community life, past and current growth, and priorities for the future. Questions cover quality of life, housing, transportation, infrastructure, and trust in local planning. The results will guide strategies for growth, investment, and improvements across the County.
Estimated Time to Complete
The survey includes a mix of multiple-choice, ranking, and open-ended questions. Most participants will finish in 12–18 minutes, depending on how much detail they provide in written responses. -
